I’m injured. It is difficult to walk around. If you see me you will notice I limp. I was hurt playing soccer while making a turn at full speed. It was exciting and I don’t regret it.
I am a goofball. I act silly at work. I change how I work because I want to get better. I frustrate some fellow workers because management makes them copy my improvements. I don’t mind. I am not here to appease everybody. I also frustrate my bosses sometimes. Oh well. I am viewed as different there.
Guess what? All this weirdness makes others ask for my advice. People always want to spend time with me. My old managers tell me they wish they had me back. People come to me because they know I get things done. I am not afraid to go around a broken system to get things done even though “it is what we are supposed to do”.
Do you spend all of your days trying to avoid discomfort? Do you avoid sweating? Do you try to fit in at work? Did you follow the same line your parents did to pick your career because it was easy? Are you bored with your life?
If you want to get rid of the boringness (I think I just invented a word) you need to stop trying to live in a Nerf world. You need to push yourself. You need to be willing to stand out and get a little dirty.
I don’t care what it is; it could be finding a new job where you don’t have experience or taking up a sport. You need to start living your life and enjoying your life. You need to stop being afraid of getting hurt. Go push your limits.
Not only is this fun, it trains you to push yourself in other areas of your life. It helps you grow as a person.
If you want to see how I am pushing myself here is a link to what I will be doing this weekend (click here)
Is anyone surprised? LOL
Crush it!
It was fun, I wore a skirt which didn’t make it through the mud pit. I ended up spending the rest of the day in a speedo.
That’s very disturbing, Josh
You think it was disturbing you should think about the people that actually saw me:)
Love the “Nerf world” line. Think I’m gonna borrow that one. 🙂

I am glad you like it. Use the heck out of it.
Yeah, that pretty much sums up how I ended up where I am professionally. Fortunately, God’s not done with me yet. He’s been gracious enough to let me hurt lately 🙂
